Liverpool and Wigan told to meet £12.5m fee for Hamburg's Eljero Elia
Hamburg have told Liverpool and Wigan they can have Holland winger Eljero Elia for £12.5million.[LNB]The German outfit want to offload the highly-rated 23-year-old, who is also wanted by Wolfsburg, after the player fell out with manager Armin Veh.[LNB]Hamburg, however, are reluctant to allow the player to leave on loan, insisting they will consider permanent offers only having turned down a short-term bid from Wigan.[LNB] Make a move: Hamburg are willing to listen to offers for winger Eljero Elia[LNB]'We do not loan players out, this is a simple conclusion,' said Hamburg sporting director Bastian Reinhardt.[LNB]'Also, as the current employer of Elia, we require at least fifteen million euros (£12.5m) from potential buyers.'[LNB]The news will alert Wigan boss Roberto Martinez who has identified Elia as a potential replacement for wantaway midfielder Charles N'Zogbia.[LNB] Dutch of class: Holland international Elia, who scored against Scotland at Hampden Park in 2009, is highly-rated[LNB]Liverpool were keen on Elia before manager Roy Hodgson left the club last week and Reinhardt confirmed the Latics interest earlier this month.
