Spurs had a bid turned down for the German midfielder during the summer after looking at Marin as a replacement for Luka Modric. Liverpool have since stepped up their own interest and are ready to offer double the 7.5 million Bremen paid for Marin who signed from Borussia Moenchengladbach in 2009.
Marin who can play anywhere across the midfield has sixteen caps and one goal for Germany, despite being born in Yugoslavia and being of Bosnia and Serb descent. Marin has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Chelsea in recent times.
