Liverpool have confirmed they have agreed a fee - believed to be £3.5million - with Real Madrid for the transfer of Alvaro Arbeloa. An Anfield spokesman said: 'We have agreed a fee with Real Madrid forthe transfer of the player, subject to him completing a medical.' Arbeloa, along with Liverpool team-mate and compatriot Xabi Alonso, has long been linked with a move to Madrid.   Reports in Spain suggest the 26-year-old has already agreed personal terms with his former club and the last few details - including a medical - will be finalised today.   Arbeloa is in the final year of his contract, having joined Liverpool for £2.6m from Deportivo La Coruna in January 2007. He played 99 games for the club and scored two goals. Liverpool consider the deal to be good business considering the player could leave for nothing next summer, and manager Benitez now has plenty of other options at right-back. Benitez has already spent £17.5million on England full-back Glen Johnson, who would have taken Arbeloa's place in the side. Liverpool also have Swiss international Philipp Degen now fit after rib and lung injuries ruled him out for all of last season, while Jamie Carragher has also filled in effectively at right-back. Arbeloa progressed through the ranks at Madrid but only played for thefirst team twice before moving to Deportivo la Coruna in 2006.  He left Spain for Liverpool a year later and has done well in the Barclays Premier League, earning a call up to the Spain team with whom he won Euro 2008.  Liverpool are also expected to soon announce the departure of Italian defender Andrea Dossena to Napoli.   It was revealed on Monday that Dossena was keen on a move back to Italy having failed to settle on Merseyside and that Napoli had made a bid of £4.3m plus bonuses. Roberto La Florio insists this has been accepted by Liverpool, who signed the 27-year-old barely 12 months ago.   'Liverpool have accepted (Napoli chairman) Aurelio De Laurentiis' offer,' he told Radio Kiss Kiss. 'It's now just a matter of days.  'The two clubs are in agreement, Liverpool accepted Napoli's offer but I can't say any more.   'With regards to Andrea there are no problems, it's only a matter of days. As soon as Napoli call us, we will finalise it.' Dossena only moved to Anfield last season from Udinese but has failed to settle and is likely to find himself even more surplus to requirements following the arrival of Glen Johnson.
