Phil Neal with the European Cup in 1984 (158)[LNB]LIVERPOOL'S most decorated player Phil Neal today welcomed the sensational return of ex-team mate Kenny Dalglish as caretaker boss following the departure of Roy Hodgson.[LNB]Neal said: "They have made the decision - we were on the rocks in many ways.[LNB]"The body language of Roy Hodgson was concerning to the fans at certain stages - could he stand he bigger club pressure?[LNB]"Results have been up and down into the New Year, starting with Newcastle.[LNB]"We should have propelled ourselves up the table and we didn't do that. And with the fixtures coming thick and fast in the New Year now, we have got to be a unit.[LNB]"Kenny would be the first man to stand in and maybe create a bit of the old type of togetherness really, along with the fans.[LNB]"Maybe we'll have a better New Year."[LNB]Added Neal, who played in four European Cup winning teams - three of them as a team mate of Dalglish in 1978, 1981 and 1984, added:[LNB]"We are not looking to the past with this appointment.[LNB]"Can Kenny prove himself once more?
