Leeds, though, continue to press 81 Grella on for Becchio 80 Howson tries a long ball to Beckford who again finds his way through two Liverpool defenders but can't quite get his foot to it as the ball goes out for a goal-kick 79 The sting has been knocked out of Leeds after Ngog's goal and the Reds appear to be controlling the ball now better than they have done throughout the match 78 Kilkenny on for Hughes 77 Gerrard on for Ngog 75 Another chance for the Whites as Michalik finds Johnson with a long ball in. He chests the ball down and from long range gets pace on his shot but Cavalieri collects 73 Leeds on the attack now as Crowe breaks on the right - he tries a long ball in to Beckford but doesn't quite get the right touch on it 71 Johnson on for Degen 69 Leeds find themselves behind despite dominating the match so far. Snodgrass looks frustrated on the far post - he looked to have a better shot on goal 60 Mascherano this time falls awkwardly on his back when rising for a header but looks to be ok as the game settles 58 Beckford goes down holding his head - he appears to have been caught by Mascherano. The referee didn't see it though and waves play on 56 Liverpool again struggling to maintain possession as the clock ticks towards the hour mark 54 Foul as Snodgrass is brought down by Mascherano. Free-kick to Leeds and Snodgrass with the delivery tries to find Doyle but the ball goes out of play 52 At the other end Beckford picks up on a long ball in and between two defenders tries the shot but doesn't get enough contact on the ball and Cavalieri clears on the second attempt 50 Grayson's side look in control again then as Liverpool attempt to breah through. Spearing tries a shot on goal but fires it over the crossbar 48 Another chance for Leeds as Crowe plays the ball into Beckford but Liverpool clear. Great link-up play by the Whites 48 Action at the other end and Snodgrass is menacing the Reds back-four. He's been one of the best players on the pitch tonight but can't quite find a way through on this occasion 47 Riera tries a shot on goal for Liverpool but Kisnorbo blocks 46 Babel and Riera have switched flanks at the start of this second half. No Gerrard or Torres yet - will they make an appearance this evening? Time will tell! 46 The second half is underway at Elland Road and the crowd are as loud as ever! Hopefully we'll see some goals in this 45-minute spell after a gripping first-half 45 HALF TIME!! Leeds will feel hard done by having a goal disallowed early on. They'll no doubt be back out all guns blazing in what is hopefully as entertaining a second half! 43 The cross in finds Riera but Higgs is in the right place to punch it away. There's lots of scrambling on the goal mouth as Leeds eventually clear 42 Jason Crowe gets the second booking when bringing down Ngog 30 yards out resulting in a Liverpool free-kick 41 Kyrgiakos gets the first yellow card of the game for a late challenge on Becchio 40 Spearing tries to break down the centre for the Reds but his run is ground to a halt 38 It's been mostly Leeds so far as the clock ticks away through the first half, just 10-minutes until half-time. Six attempts between the two sides so far and only one on target 36 Still Leeds press through Crow on the right channel but he miss-kicks and fires the ball into the stand 34 Benitez is on his feet now shouting orders to his players who appear to have settled a little more into the game 32 At the other end, Mascherano tries a shot on goal but Kisnorbo blocks as Leeds clear 30 End to end stuff and a chance again for Leeds as Snodgrass links up on the right with Beckford. Fabulous play between the pair as Snodgrass then tries the cross in to Becchio but the ball is palmed clear by Cavalieri 28 Chance for Liverpool as Babel picks it up on the half-way line and gallops past challengers to form something of a chance but his finishing touch has no real pace as Higgs collects 26 Leeds now on the attack again through Snodgrass who has four red shirts around him. Babel on the right tries to thread the ball through to Mascherano but Kisnorbo clears 22 The referee has a word with Johnson over a late challenge on Degen. The Liverpool midfielder looks ok after the tumble and rises back to his feet 20 Rafa Benitez is on his feet - he's not happy with what he's seen so far 18 The Whites force a corner taken by Snodgrass - better defending by Liverpool and the ball is cleared 16 Leeds continue to press, Liverpool are struggling to keep possession at the moment 14 The Whites, then, have enjoyed the better of the opening quarter and have the crowd behind them now. Liverpool really need to tighten up at the back 12 Leeds would argue that Beckford and Becchio were level when the header came in but as it stands the scoreline remains goalless 11 Leeds on the attack again and controversially have a goal disallowed. The flag is up for offside as Beckford scrambles the ball over the line off a Michalik header but the linesman's flag is up. Becchio may have been the reason for the decision - he looked to intervene as the ball crossed the line 9 Chance for Leeds as Snodgrass breaks on the right to thread a decent ball through to Doyle but he heads it wide 7 Liverpool are controlling the ball much better now as they bid to silence the Whites' support. Riera tries to force a ball wide to Mascherano but catches Snodgrass in the process and Leeds are awarded a free-kick 6 The corner is taken quickly resulting in open play 5 Babel tries a run down the right hand side but Hughes is there to force a corner. Promising signs for Liverpool 3 Liverpool look a little nervous with the ball, these young players need to settle - only two first-team regulars named in the Reds squad but look at the names on the bench! 2 It's a sell out at Elland Road and the fans are really making their presence known. Beckford heads for goal straight away and looks to be pulled down by Caragher when attempting to channel through the Liverpool defender but the referee waves play on 1 We're underway in the Carling Cup.
