Leaky Reds defence worries Reina

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina believes it is not in Liverpool's "identity" to concede as many as goals as they have done during pre-season.[LNB] The Reds have shipped 15 goals in five games, conceding three times in each encounter against somewhat weaker opposition.[LNB]Hull, Galatasaray and Valerenga are just some of the teams who have troubled Kenny Dalglish's men this summer.[LNB]The Scot has, at times, been forced to field weakened sides and certain new signings are still finding their feet, but Reina is not using that as an excuse. [LNB]"We have a lot of work ahead of us," the Spaniard told The Times. "We cannot afford to concede so many goals. To let in three is not our identity. [LNB]"We have some new signings and we are still working them into our system."[LNB]Daniel Agger helped avoid an embarrassing defeat in Norway on Monday, chipping in with two goals in a worrying 3-3 draw in a game which saw Liverpool fall two behind early on.[LNB]The Danish defender with an eye for goal took little comfort from his brace, though, and echoed Reina's call for a shape up in defence.[LNB]"The amount of goals we have conceded is not good enough," Agger said. "We need to show we can keep a clean sheet and we have got to defend better.[LNB]"If you are a footballer, you have to be a perfectionist. We are all the same as defenders. So far we just have to admit that (the way we have played) has not been good enough.[LNB]"There is definitely something to work on," added Agger, whose side open up their competitive season at home to Sunderland on August 13.
