Lavezzi gets Napoli warning

Napoli have told reported Liverpool target Ezequiel Lavezzi that he is to report to pre-season training on July 10th. The 24-year-old insisted that he was set for a move to Anfield this summer after claiming that the Reds had made a bid for him. Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez denied all knowledge of the offer and it now seems that the little Argentine is set to stay in Naples. However Lavezzi's demands for an improved contract were met with derision by Napoli leaving the forward again considering his future. "It's not war nor peace," Napoli general director Pierpaolo Marino said when asked about the Lavezzi situation. "The player will have to turn up for pre-season training on July 10th and that's that. If Lavezzi fails to turn up for that date, then things would change." Lavezzi has become a fans' favourite at the San Paolo in his two seasons at the club, drawing inevitable comparisons with the great Diego Maradona. The former Estudiantes youngster has a contract until June 2013 with Napoli, although the player's agent maintains that the Serie A outfit refused to enter negotiations with Liverpool despite both clubs denying the bid.
