Kuyt out for two weeks

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt faces two weeks on the sidelines after picking up an ankle injury while on international duty.

The 26-year-old sustained the problem in Holland's Euro 2008 qualifier against Bulgaria on Saturday.

A scan has shown Kuyt has strained ankle ligaments that will force him to miss the Premiership clash with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and next Wednesday's Champions League trip to Bordeaux.

However, the Reds hope the former Feyenoord forward will be fit enough to play some part in the Premiership six-pointer at Manchester United on October 22.

Kuyt had to be substituted after only 16 minutes of the 1-1 draw against Bulgaria and misses Holland's game against Albania on Wednesday.
