Kuyt a doubt for Reds

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt could miss Saturday's Premiership clash against Blackburn Rovers after picking up an ankle injury while on international duty.

The 26-year-old sustained the problem in Holland's Euro 2008 qualifier against Bulgaria on Saturday and is already almost certain to miss his country's game against Albania in midweek.

Kuyt had to be substituted after only 16 minutes of the 1-1 draw.

After the game Holland coach Marco Van Basten confirmed: "Kuyt twisted his ankle and it's unlikely he will be fit for Wednesday."

Kuyt has scored two goals in eight appearances for the Reds since his summer switch from Feyenoord.
