Kuyt Still Hopes For Miracle

Liverpool need a miracle if they are to win their first league title for 19 years, according to striker Dirk Kuyt[LNB]Although Tuesday night's thrilling 4-4 draw at home to Arsenal took Rafael Benitez's side top of the Premier League, it handed the initiative to Manchester United.[LNB]The defending champions are only behind on goal difference and have two matches in hand, the first at home to Portsmouth on Wednesday night.[LNB]"It is harder after last night because we knew before the game that we needed to win to keep the pressure on," said Kuyt.[LNB]"But at least we got a draw and didn't lose and we have to keep fighting until the very end.[LNB]"We have to hope for a miracle now as it has become more difficult than it already was.[LNB]"But you have seen a team that has not given up and we will never give up so let's hope that a miracle can happen.[LNB]"It will be difficult but as long as we keep winning our own games then maybe they (United) will struggle.[LNB]"They have two games in hand so they could take a six-point lead, so they will have to lose twice - but that can happen."[LNB]The 28-year-old insisted it was imperative for Liverpool's remaining five matches - against Hull, Newcastle, West Ham, West Brom and Tottenham - that they cut out the silly mistakes.[LNB]All four of Arsenal's goals came via uncharacteristic errors from a defence which has been miserly at home all season, conceding just eight in 16 league matches prior to the Gunners' visit.[LNB]"We played a good game and we only made four mistakes in the 90 minutes but they cost us two points," the Holland international told the Liverpool Echo.[LNB]"All of their goals came from our own mistakes and this is something we have to change but we need to keep our focus on our next game.[LNB]"The point we took is an important one because otherwise we could have ended up seven points behind and that would have made it almost impossible."[LNB]
