iverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has revealed that Rafa Benitez has advised the Dutchman to delay new contract talks until the manager's own future at the club is resolved.[LNB] Benitez is currently negotiating a deal with the Anfield outfit that will reportedly see him gain greater control over transfers and youth development.[LNB]However, with an agreement still not reached and initial drafts rejected by Benitez, the futures of some of the Spaniard's star signings remain heavily tied to that of the manager.[LNB]"Rafa told me he wanted to give me a new contract but he wanted to sort out his own contract first and then we'll see what's happening," Kuyt told reporters.[LNB]Future"I've just been trying to focus on the games and not worry too much. Because I'm happy at Liverpool and I enjoy it, I want to stay. [LNB]"I don't know if my future is linked to the manager, because that depends on what the club wants. [LNB]"If the club want to give me a new contract, I'm more than happy to talk about it. [LNB]"I've never been thinking about whether the manager would go or not. [LNB]"Of course, you want to know who the manager is but I've said I want to stay at Liverpool."[LNB]
