Konchesky looking for winners medal

Paul Konchesky wants to lift his first trophy. The left-back has twice been a beaten finalist, in the 2006 FA Cup final and last year's Europa League final, so is hoping to make it third time lucky with the Reds this season. "Last year was both gutting and devastating," said Konchesky. "We were so close but so far away. Hopefully I can go one step closer with Liverpool and get a winners' medal now. "Last year's hurt more (than the FA Cup defeat to Liverpool in 2006). It was late in extra-time and there was no way back. "Like I say, I hope I can get a winners' medal here because I feel I'm now at a club where I can do that. I can't wait to try and win something here. Hopefully it will be this year." He added: "It would be great to do it in Dublin. We'll take each game as it comes and if it gets closer we can maybe start to think about it."
