Liverpool winger Harry Kewell has refused to call time on his Reds career and still hopes to earn a new contract to extend his time at Anfield.
The 29-year-old has been allowed to go away on international duty with Australia to try and get some games under his belt, with his current deal with the Reds due to expire next summer.
Kewell told the Daily Post: "I've got a contract until the end of the season and I'm still fighting for another one at Liverpool.
"I've got the Aussie spirit of never-say-die and I'll take that all the way to the end. I won't give up until the final whistle.
"The best thing for me is to get some games, so I can be fighting fit for Liverpool.
"There's a chance here to play two games and Rafa Benitez was very happy for me to come across. I've just got to play football.
"I've been through some good times and bad times and I've realised now that I just want to enjoy my football. That's the important thing."
Kewell joined Liverpool in the summer of 2003 from Leeds United, but a succession of injuries have restricted him to 139 appearances for the Reds, while he has netted a mere 16 goals.
