Kenwyne mystery: Sunderland striker a major doubt after going missing

Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones is a doubt for Liverpool's visit after going missing. The Trinidad and Tobago captain is on his way back from the midweek 2-2 draw with Mexico, after playing just 13 minutes as a substitute in Port of Spain. Bruce dropped the former Southampton striker after a similar long journey back last month, allowing Frazier Campbell to start against his former club Hull City, and he will make a late decision on Jones's fitness and state of mind. Bruce said: `Trying to get hold of Kenwyne is like trying to get hold of the Pope I tell you. We have tried to contact him but we don't know where he is. `I am sure he will show up at some time but in all seriousness we know he played against Mexico on Wednesday for 10 minutes and that's the good thing. I hope he comes back whatever time and he is as fresh as a daisy and will look forward to playing against Liverpool. `I knew he was absolutely physically shattered before the Hull game. We have all done the 12-14 hour flights and it is the whole scenario with all the geography and changing flights that comes with it and trying to then playing Premier League game is difficult. So I will assess him and Lorik Cana too and I will leave that until the last minute.'
