Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has backed Kop legend Kenny Dalglish to take the reins at Anfield.[LNB] Benitez was presented as new coach of Inter Milan on Tuesday after he left Liverpool earlier in the month.[LNB]The 50-year-old Spaniard endured a torrid campaign with the Premier League side last season, but left the club on good terms having guided them to Champions League glory in 2005.[LNB]Liverpool are now in the hunt for a new manager, and the names in the frame include Fulham's Roy Hodgson, Aston Villa's Martin O'Neill and Dutch tactician Frank Rijkaard.[LNB]But Benitez is backing Dalglish, who is currently involved with the youth academy and is a club ambassador, to be the next man at the helm.[LNB]"I think Liverpool should look at Kenny Dalglish," he said in The Sun.[LNB]"He is the man for the job. The owners should listen to the fans because they are unhappy. [LNB]"No one knows the club better than Dalglish and he would be perfect there. [LNB]"He wants the job and in my opinion he should get it."[LNB]On his own departure, Benitez added: "It was very difficult for me to leave Liverpool. I was there for six years and my daughter is seven, she grew up there. It's a big, big club but the situation has changed. [LNB]"Inter is a good opportunity for me. Yes, it was hard to leave Liverpool and I was sad to go.[LNB]"It was not easy - the fans, the Kop, have been fantastic. [LNB]"I needed to move. Inter is a massive club. This is a perfect opportunity for me and I am pleased to be here. [LNB]"Before I left I spoke with 95 per cent of the Liverpool players. The majority said 'thank you for everything'. [LNB]"I spoke with Steven Gerrard on his birthday and he was fine. He wished me well and now he is focusing on the World Cup. [LNB]"The relationship with the players was good, with the fans it was fantastic. It was a sad day when I left but I had to do it."[LNB]Benitez has a tough task to follow as Inter last season clinched a remarkable treble under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho.[LNB]Mourinho has now moved on to Real Madrid, but Benitez insists he is not concerned by the legacy left by the Portuguese coach.[LNB]"He did a good job here. I am not anti-Mourinho," he said.[LNB]"I like to win and I like to play good football so I don't think we are anything different. [LNB]"I am not going to change anything because that would not be very clever. I haven't spoken with Mourinho because I have been very busy here and so is he. [LNB]"Maybe I will talk when we are not so busy."
