Kenny Dalglish vows to stop the rot after Liverpool are exposed by Blackpool

Kenny Dalglish admitted he is under no illusions about the size of the challenge ahead as Liverpool crashed to defeat at Blackpool.[LNB] Dalglish's first Barclays Premier League game since 1998 ended in disappointment as goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and DJ Campbell cancelled out Fernando Torres' fourth minute opener. [LNB]Liverpool's principal owner John Henry will fly in today to discuss, among other things, the search for a new chief executive, transfer targets and ideas on redeveloping Anfield.[LNB]Blackpool 2 Liverpool 1: Read Matt Lawton's match reportNow watch highlights of the action at Bloomfield Road Joy and pain: Kenny Dalglish turns away as Ian Holloway celebrates memorable win[LNB] He will attend Sunday's home derby against Everton and will take the opportunity to become better acquainted with Dalglish.[LNB] But Henry is guaranteed to hear how much Liverpool need to invest if they are going to stop a worrying rot. They remain in 13th place, four points above the relegation zone.[LNB] Dalglish said: 'I'm disappointed we've come away with no points. There is a couple of things we can sort out. If the problems lie within yourself, you have got half a chance.[LNB] 'I was pleased with the commitment and effort. It is a big challenge. Very seldom do you walk into a job like this with no challenges. We will keep trying very hard. We have got a lot of work to do.[LNB] 'I have not spoken to Damien (Comolli) or the owners about new players. They gave me a squad of players to work with and I said "thank you very much".'[LNB] This was the first time Blackpool have done the double over Liverpool since 1946-47 but, as was the case at Anfield, there was nothing fortuitous about the outcome.[LNB] DJ's delight: Campbell (right) dives in to clinch the three points[LNB] Ian Holloway's side never lost their composure after Torres had fired Liverpool in front and were well on top by the final whistle, taking advantage of sloppy defending from the visitors.[LNB] Holloway, understandably, was over the moon and insisted this was his finest day as a manager since taking Blackpool back into the top flight.[LNB] He said: 'That is the best of the lot. It feels really great. If I had said we'd take six points off Liverpool this season, you'd have said I was do-lally. You would have put me in one of those Harry Houdini straightjackets.[LNB] Cool finish: Gary Taylor-Fletcher scores Blackpool's equaliser[LNB] 'It could have been a long, horrible, horrible night. I am so proud of my lads.'[LNB] Charlie Adam was instrumental in securing thevictory and Holloway had stinging words for Aston Villa, who want to sign the Scottish midfielder.[LNB] He added: 'They can all just go and shove their bid wherever they like it, if they think he is only worth £3.5million. The fans love him, we love him and I think he owes us to stay here. [LNB] Boiling over: Pepe Reina was involved in a row with a Blackpool fan who stormed on to the pitch[LNB]I want him to go to a place where he will be loved and cherished and, at the minute, I haven't received a call from anyone who will give him that. [LNB]'I am imagining the likes of (Wayne) Rooney and (Dimitar) Berbatov running on to those passes. He is at that level. Why can't he help us stay up and then move on to one of those giants?'
