Kenny Dalglish praises Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish expressed his delight with the exciting partnership developing between strikers Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez.[LNB]Both impressed in the 3-0 victory over Manchester City which was even more comfortable than the scoreline suggests.[LNB]Suarez was denied early on when his shot was tipped onto a post by goalkeeper Joe Hart but Carroll made the breakthrough everyone at Anfield had been waiting for when he scored his first two goals since joining for ?35million in January.[LNB] Rising highest: Carroll heads home his second goal against City[LNB] The 22-year-old smashed one past Hart from 25 yards and headed in Raul Meireles' cross either side of Dirk Kuyt scoring his 11th of the season.[LNB]But in addition to the goals it was the relationship between his two forwards, bought for a combined ?57.8million, which pleased Dalglish.[LNB]'You can see the more Andy and Luis play together the better the understanding is,' said the Scot.[LNB]'I thought Luis played outstandingly and was unfortunate not to open the scoring when he hit the post.[LNB]'I think everyone can see their partnership is developing but the quality of the service up to them was pretty special.'[LNB] Mobbed: Dirk Kuyt (centre) celebrates his goal against City[LNB]He added: 'It is great to see the big man get off the mark.[LNB]'The first one was a fantastic strike, the second a good header.'[LNB] Of the performance itself, in which City's expensively-assembled side did not force a save of note from Jose Reina until the 83rd minute, Dalglish added: 'It was very enjoyable.[LNB]'I don't know whether it was the best performance (since his return as manager in January) but it was enjoyable.[LNB] 'It was a fantastic performance. I think they thoroughly deserved the 3-0 victory.[LNB]Double trouble: Carroll (left) and Suarez (right) have developed a promising partnership[LNB]'We had plenty of opportunities to add to the three goals and it is a great boost for us beating a team as good as Man City 3-0 and deservedly as well.[LNB]'I don't think it is easy to keep City quiet and I think you should pay credit to them for the way they kept them quiet.[LNB]'It was a greater tribute in the second half, even though they were 3-0 up, that they didn't want to lose a goal and they created a lot of chances as well but unfortunately we didn't put any away.[LNB]'It is a great result for the players and won't do them any harm at all.'[LNB]Carroll himself was naturally delighted to get off the mark.[LNB]'It was a great day for us, getting my first goal and a great result all round,' he said.[LNB]'The reception I've got from the fans has been great, it's been fantastic since I got here.'[LNB]Of his first goal he said: 'It dropped nicely for me on the edge of the area and I hit it sweeter than I thought.[LNB]'We went out to put pressure on them and that's what we did and got goals early.'[LNB][LNB] Liverpool 3 Man City 0: Fernando who?
