Kenny Dalglish 300[LNB]KENNY DALGLISH will be in the frame for the permanent manager's role at Liverpool at the end of the season.[LNB]The Scot was handed temporary charge of the Reds on Saturday following Roy Hodgson's dismissal.[LNB]And the 59-year-old, who was in the dugout for Liverpool's defeat to Manchester United at the weekend, is a candidate for the job when it becomes available in late May.[LNB]Director of football Damien Comolli confirmed Dalglish was firmly in the club's thoughts for the coming recruitment process.[LNB] Quizzed on what criteria was needed to become Liverpool's next permanent boss, the Frenchman said: 'Competence, someone who will fit into the club and playing philosophy and huge on man-management.[LNB]'That will be the three things most important to the club.'[LNB]And he insisted Dalglish would be spoken to about the role. Comolli added: 'It is open to people that we think fit into what I have described and Kenny will come into that category.[LNB]'There will be a thorough search of what we want to do, where we want to get to and we will speak to Kenny about it and we'll see where it takes us.'[LNB]Dalglish was asked about his understanding of his current role in charge and said: 'There's no conditions, promises, there's nothing.[LNB]'I've come back to work at a club that myself and family are eternally grateful for many things that they've done for us and when I was asked to do it, there was no way I was going to be disrespectful and say no.[LNB]'If I can get to the end of the season, I'll probably end up being one of the longest serving managers in the Premiership![LNB]'The objective is to gain as many victories as we possibly can. All I can promise is my very best and if it's good enough then we'll have more happier days than sad days.'
