JOHN ALDRIDGE: Chelsea v Liverpool FC is clash of the wounded giants

03 October 2009 01:00
Liverpool against Chelsea is always one of the biggest games of the season. But add in the fact that Chelsea were caught cold by Wigan last weekend and the Reds were stung by Fiorentina in midweek - and it makes tomorrow's match all the more intriguing. For the neutrals, this one is beautifully set up. Ancelotti will want to see a reaction from his players to a shock league defeat - while Rafa Benitez is rightly demanding one big time from the players who were so disappointing in that first half in Italy. Every Liverpool player must deliver a response if we're to bag the three points - or even a point at Stamford Bridge. But we won there last season and scored four goals in the Champions League too and after what we did to Hull last weekend, there is no reason to believe we can't win it. But it will be tough.
