Javier Mascherano has urged former team-mate Carlos Tevez to join him at Liverpool.
The Argentine pair spent the first half of last season together at West Ham United before Mascherano was signed by Reds boss Rafael Benitez.
The pair are currently back in the same side as part of Argentina's Copa America squad in Venezuela and midfielder Mascherano would like Tevez to move to Anfield ahead of the new Premier League season.
"It would be nice to play with Carlos again," he is quoted as telling the Daily Star.
"Right now we are together in the Copa America and it's great. We'll see what is going to happen before the start of next season.
"Carlos is a great player and he could be very useful to Liverpool in my opinion.
"But the truth is that I would never dare to ask Rafa Benitez or any other coach to bring a player to a club.
"If he asked me, I would tell him my opinion, but that's the only context in which I would tell him what I think."
