Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard joined an elite group of three players to have played more than 700 times for the Reds tonight.
And fellow member of Liverpool’s 700+ club Jamie Carragher was among the first to welcome Gerrard into the fold.

Along with sponsor Adidas which showed off the special boots Gerrard was using for his milestone match.

We’d been given a sneak peak of the boots at the end of last month, when Gerrard posted this snap on Instagram captioned: “I will be wearing these in the next match I play in. Appearance number 700 for the Reds! #therewillbehaters #predatorinstinct
#adidasuk”
