International round-up

There were a few Reds in action for their countries over the weekend. Stewart Downing played the full 90 minutes of England's 3-0 win over Bulgaria while Andy Carroll was an unused subsitute. In the same group, Craig Bellamy helped Wales get their first win of the campaign, 2-1 over Montenegro. The Liverpool striker was also booked which rules him out of tomorrow's clash with England but hopefully this will mean an early return to Melwood for Bellamy. Dirk Kuyt was on the scoresheet as Holland hammered San Marino 11-0. Kuyt scored the fourth goal before being subsituted. Martin Skrtel helped Slovakia earn a decent 0-0 away to the Republic of Ireland. In friendlies Pepe Reina made a subsitute appearance for Spain as they came from 2-0 down to beat Chile 3-2 while Luis Suarez got two assists in Uruguay's 3-2 victory over Ukraine. New signing Sebastian Coates came on as a 74th minute subsitute. On the Saturday Charlie Adam played for Scotland as they were held 2-2 by the Czech Republic and an inept referee.
