There were mixed results again for the Reds on international duty. Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson both played the full 90 minutes as England beat Switzerland 3-1 in Basel to make it two wins out of two in their qualifying campaign. Martin Skrtel played the full 90 as Slovakia picked up the three points with an impressive 1-0 away win over Russia. Daniel Agger and Christian Poulsen both completed the 90 as Denmark beat Iceland 1-0 in Copenhagen. Milan Jovanovic played 64 minutes as Serbia drew 1-1 at home to Slovenia. There was disappointment for Raul Meireles who played the full 90 for Portugal as they went down 1-0 away to Norway. Pepe Reina had a bad night in Spain's friendly with Argentina. The Liverpool keeper played the first half and conceded three goals as Spain lost 4-1. Fernando Torres was an unused subsitute. Danny Wilson played the full 90 for Scotland under 21's as they reached the play-offs for the Under 21's European Championships with a 2-1 win in Austria. Martin Kelly was an unused sub for England under 21's as they too booked their place in the Under 21's European Championships play-off with a 3-0 win over Lithuania. Peter Gulacsi captained Hungary under 21's to a 0-0 with Bosnia and Herzegovina, a result that saw them finish third in their group.
