Fiorentina are no longer interested in signing Liverpool's Argentinian defender Emiliano Insua.
The Serie A club's sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has said that the player's excessive wage demands put an end to any deal.
"Insua? It has been a transfer that has gone on for a long time because of the player," he said. "I had dinner with Liverpool's sporting director until two in the morning. The player is staying at Liverpool.
"The reasons are linked to the player. His demands are high for us. We will not sign Insua."
Corvino has also confirmed that Juan Manuel Vargas is staying in Florence despite being linked with moves to Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
He added: "If players don't ask to leave then we will keep them. We want to keep all our players. Vargas? He is staying."
