RYAN BABEL insists he is happy at Liverpool and is determined to stay and fight for his place. The Dutchman made a key contribution in Saturday’s thrilling 3-2 victory at West Ham as he came off the bench to create the winner for Fernando Torres. It was Babel’s first league outing since the defeat to Aston Villa last month and now he is hungry for more. “It was great to be out there and I’m really pleased I was able to help us get a crucial three points,” he said. “Before I came on the manager said I needed to bring some energy to the game and that I needed to run at them. “I enjoyed it and that will give me some confidence. Now I hope to carry on like this. “If I keep working hard then hopefully I can get some more minutes and in the end get a place back in the starting line-up.” During the recent international break the £11million winger reportedly accused Rafa Benitez of “breaking promises” about playing time this season and claimed he would be keen on moving back to Ajax on loan in January. However, the 22-year-old insists he was bewildered by the comments attributed to him.
