Ice-cool Rafa Benitez knew Liverpool would not be beaten by Man United

What pressure? Rafa Benitez

For a manager coming off a humiliating run of four defeats, Rafa Benitez had been supremely confident in predicting Liverpool would beat Manchester United.

And the Spaniard's ice-cool reaction to his side's goals in the 2-0 victory showed he was taking Sunday's big occasion in his cocky stride.

While players and fans celebrated Fernando Torres's opener wildly, unruffled Rafa just took a glance at his watch. Benitez said: 'From the keeper to the last fan on the Kop, we were not going to be beaten.

'The players just did not want to lose and this was the perfect response.

'With the fans getting behind the team, we had 12 men on the pitch. We've answered a lot of questions.'

Bullish stuff from a boss whose Premier League record against great rivals United is four wins, seven defeats and a draw.
