Ian Rush[LNB]IAN RUSH insists Roy Hodgson must be given time to transform Liverpool's fortunes and has urged supporters to unite behind the manager.[LNB]The Anfield legend believes Saturday's 2-1 victory over Bolton can prove to be a turning point after miserable back to back league defeats had left Hodgson fighting for his job.[LNB]'It was a very big result for Liverpool,' Rush said.[LNB]'What I liked about the game is that the supporters were fantastic. Against Wolves they weren't at their best but they had nothing to shout about.[LNB] 'But against Bolton, Liverpool played some really good football and the crowd got behind them and I think it made a real difference. It looked to me as though they wanted to win as a team.[LNB]'Roy knew what he was taking on when he got the job. It's all based on results. Roy is a great coach and a great person. You can see what he is trying to do.[LNB]'We need to get behind him. I know he wasn't first choice for the supporters but he needs time.'[LNB]A growing number of fans have lost patience with Hodgson after the Reds' worst start to a season for over half a century. The Kop once again chanted for the return of Kenny Dalglish during last week's defeat to Wolves.
