IAN RUSH: Javier Mascherano will be sorely missed in Liverpool FC's midfield

I DONT think Javier Mascherano could complain about his red card at Fratton Park.[LNB]It wasnt malicious but he was late and his foot was high.[LNB]If Mascherano had been able to get straight back up I think he may have got away with a yellow.[LNB]But with him being down for so long having treatment it gave Lee Mason time to have a long discussion with the fourth official, who I think may have seen it again on a monitor.[LNB]The fact that Mascherano picked up a knee injury was more bad luck and were going to miss him.[LNB]But his absence over the next few weeks presents a chance for someone else and they need to grab it with both hands.
