I'm coming back to Liverpool as Hertha Berlin can't afford me, reveals Voronin
Published : 17 Apr 2009 13:50:05

Andriy Voronin has revealed he will return to Liverpool next summer after Hertha Berlin rejected to take the Ukraine striker on a permanent basis. The 29-year-old is on a one-year loan to the German club and is their top scorer with 11 goals this season. But Hertha are unwilling to meet Liverpool's asking price despite the fact Voronin has helped them to fourth in the Bundesliga, reports Bild. 'Liverpool offered Hertha a good price for me, and tried to meet them halfway, but they couldn't do a deal as Hertha refused to budge,'said Voronin. 'It's a shame, but I can understand it in these times of economic crisis. 'I'm going to move out of my Berlin flat in a month and a half, when my lease runs out. I've already ordered the packing cases.' Voronin joined Liverpool on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in 2007 and is under contract until 2011. The striker has played for three other German clubs - Borussia Moenchengladbach, Mainz and Cologne.
