Hodgson hopeful Gerrard will stay

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is confident Steven Gerrard will remain at Anfield after holding talks with the player.Hodgson met the Liverpool skipper and team-mate Jamie Carragher on his first day as manager and said there were no suggestions that Gerrard was unhappy. The former Fulham boss told LFC Weekly: "Nobody at the club wants him to go so I will be doing my utmost to make sure he stays. I am confident he will."
