Liverpool owner John Henry has been discharged from hospital after suffering an injury on his yacht, Press Association Sport understands.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030 said that the tycoon, who also owns the Boston Red Sox, left his private boat in a neck brace after a minor incident on Friday.

Reports suggest the 52-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene before being put on a stretcher and transported to Massachusetts General Hospital by ambulance. Massachusetts General Hospital confirmed the 52-year-old had been admitted to their emergency room on Friday night, and he is understood to have now been discharged.

Reports of the incident surfaced less than 24 hours before Liverpool's Merseyside derby clash with Everton at Goodison Park, and on the day the Red Sox parted company with double World Series-winning manager Terry Francona.
