Henderson eager to grab chance

iverpool new boy Jordan Henderson insists he will be busting a gut to win a place in Kenny Dalglish's starting XI and and then stay there.[LNB] The 20-year-old sealed his Anfield switch earlier this month and he accepts that he will not simply walk into the Reds first team having been a regular for Sunderland.[LNB]The England Under-21 international knows competition for places is fierce in Dalglish's team and realises it would be unwise to simply assume he will be starting following his £20million arrival.[LNB]Given a choice the talented midfielder would love to play in the middle for his new team, although he will still be giving his all even if he is not in his preferred role.[LNB]"There'll be competition at any big club but I've got to make sure I work extremely hard and do everything I can to make sure I'm starting," commented the youngster. [LNB]"If I train well and work hard I'll get my chance - and I'll take it as well. I spoke to the manager and he said I can play in a few positions. [LNB]"I'm not really bothered, all I care about is making sure that I'm in the starting XI and playing regular football. If I could choose I'd probably be centre midfield."[LNB]Liverpool have spent big on Henderson and while some players fail to live up to their price tag, Henderson will not be sidetracking himself by figures.[LNB]"It's a lot of money but I don't make the figures up," he continued.[LNB]"It just shows Liverpool have a lot of faith in me and I'll keep learning and working hard to repay them. [LNB]"There are a lot of parts of my game I need to work on. I'll do everything I can."
