Hearts vs Liverpool Europa League Qualifying Round : Match Preview

Liverpool travel to Tynecastle tonight for the first leg of their Europa league Qualifying round match against Scottish opponents Hearts.

Brendan Rodgers insists there is no chance of his side treating Thursday night's game with complacency.

The Liverpool manager spoke at a press conference: "It's certainly something that I've noticed in my short time here, that they are allergic to complacency. There is no question about that. They focus every day and their concentration is good. They'll understand the size of the task in terms of coming here and having to play well."Former Swansea manager Rodgers believes Hearts' drubbing by Tottenham will have steeled them for the prospect of facing Liverpool.

"I think Hearts will be better for that experience," Rodgers said. "They might have some regrets from last year. The game was over early on and it left them with an uphill task going forward. I'm sure they will be right up for this game."

Brendan Rodgers has rested several key players for the Premier league clash against Manchester City on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Martin Skrtel and Glen Johnson have all been rested for Sunday's game and new signing Oussama Assaidi is not eligible for this stage of the competition.

Both Jose Enrique and Joe Cole are out injured and will not feature.

Hearts defender Marius Zaliukas suffered a dead leg during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Inverness but has been able to train since the weekend and David Templeton returns from suspension.

Jamie MacDonald's availability is still in doubt as his pregnant partner was admitted to hospital on Wednesday morning. New signing Peter Enckelman is on standby.

Hearts (provisional squad): MacDonald, Enckelman, Hamilton, Patterson, Barr, McGowan, Zaliukas, Webster, McHattie, Taouil, Driver, Prychynenko, Holt, Novikovas, Thomson, Walker, Sutton, Grainger, Robinson, Templeton.

Liverpool (provisional squad): Reina, Jones, Kelly, Agger, Carragher, Coates, Flanagan, Shelvey, Lucas, Adam, Allen, Henderson, Spearing, Downing, Borini, Carroll, Wilson, Robinson, Sterling, Eccleston.
