HATCHET MAN: Selfish Keane should have shared his Anfield goal with the Spurs fans who idolise him i

Robbie Keane decided he shouldn't celebrate after scoring at Liverpool yesterday, but it wasn't because it was a meaningless goal in a match his Tottenham manager never seemed to want to win. He should have been ecstatic about adding to his very small Anfield goal collection. But with Tottenham in danger of a dreaded Europa League place if they had fashioned a win, his lack of emotion must have been from some supposed mark of respect for his former club. If there has ever been a more superficial, meaningless gesture from a player in a match this column hasn't come across it. Keane was at Liverpool for the career equivalent of five minutes and was bombed out at the first opportunity by Rafael Benitez. He had no time to build an affinity with the fans and must have more bad memories than good. He claims he has always been a fan, but who cares?  Spurs fans have been better to Keane than anyone and he should have made sure he was in tune with them, not the supporters of a club he failed miserably at.
