Kop out: Liverpool owners George Gillett (left) and Tom Hicks could derail the club's Premier League title challenge if they plunge into takeover talks now. The Almost Anyone but Gillett and Hicks (AAGH) brigade could even consider celebrating the prospect of Kuwaiti billionaire Nasser Al Kharafi taking charge, if only the timing of the link was not so bad.     More from Hatchet Man...   HATCHET MAN: Ronaldo needing a confidence boost? Increasing the uncertainty around Liverpool at such a crucial time in the season looks like yet another example of their buffoonery. If they didn't have the wherewithal to properly support Liverpool long-term when they bought the club they should have stayed away, and if they find they have to get out the least they could do is wait until the close season to do so. But after wrecking last season with painful and protracted in-fighting, the Americans appear to be about to drive straight into another car crash. The difference this time is that a long-awaited title challenge could be part of the wreckage. Hicks and George Gillett have already failed to find agreement with manager Rafael Benitez over a new contract and it has started to look like a distraction for the team. Plunging them knee deep into the doubt that surrounds takeover talks can only make matters worse. Only a record-breaking swift sale could salvage the situation for Liverpool and you won't find many at Anfield who think they are capable of that.
