HATCHET MAN: Ignore Rafa's moans over money, the Liverpool boss is to blame for their failures

As Liverpool finally start to accept their fate as also-rans, manager Rafa Benitez has wheeled out his excuse about money again. Cash bash: Rafa Benitez is struggling to keep up with his rivals 'We want to keep on improving but it will be difficult because of the power of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, the stadium and the money they can spend,' he said. Benitez's inclusion of Arsenal says it all. They say they have funds to spend but rarely use them (if they exist, that is) and it is boringly pathetic to hear him dredge this one up. Liverpool are not West Bromwich Albion or Hull, they are a big club who receive a large income from the Champions League and have spent vast sums throughout Benitez's rein. The manager has been saying for a while now that his team are close to winning the Premier League title and they have competed at least this season, but if the Spaniard cannot finish the job it will be down to him not cash.
