Halton MP pleased with Hillsborough debate

Derek Twigg was satisfied with Monday night's Hillsborough debate at the House of Commons, in which MPs backed a motion calling for full disclosure of all documents.

The Minister of Parliament for Halton recounted his own memories of the disaster during the debate, and has been an ardent campaigner for justice since that eventful day 22 years ago.

"The important outcome of the debate was the categorical statement from the Home Secretary that all documents would be released to the Independent Panel unredacted," he said.

"From speaking to the families I was pleased to hear that they were delighted with the way the debate went.

"I was impressed that so many MP’s from all over the country wanted to speak and support the campaign for justice for the 96."
