Green shoots of recovery at Liverpool

05 February 2013 11:55

The last three and a half seasons have not been easy for Liverpool. Four different managers have walked through the doors at Anfield, but the occasional flash of hope (such as last season’s League Cup victory) aside, there has been little to show for such an illustrious club.

However, with the club currently sitting within touching distance of 4th spot in the league and the newly formed partnership of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez immediately bearing fruit up front, the Kop may finally have something to cheer.

Brendan Rogers’ side have put in a string of impressive displays recently, culminating in Sunday’s draw at the Etihad, where they were unlucky not to win. As the manager’s philosophy begins to bed in and the youngsters that he has so willingly put faith in develop, it may not be long before they’re back at the top.

They may fall short of Fourth this season, but with some additions and a settled dressing room, 2013/14 could be a great season for Liverpool FC.
