// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Midfielder Steven Gerrard left England's training session early on Tuesday and goalkeeper David James did not feature ahead of the final World Cup qualifier against Belarus.[LNB] The Liverpool skipper began training with the rest of the squad, but he was then seen leaving along with head physio Gary Lewin.[LNB]Gerrard was forced off at half-time during Saturday's 1-0 loss away to Ukraine with a groin problem.[LNB]Pictures of the midfielder exiting the session with Lewin before it ended have raised concerns he could now be forced out of the Group 6 clash with Belarus at Wembley on Wednesday.[LNB]Goalkeeper James, who is hoping to start with Rob Green suspended, was the only initial absentee from the 23-man squad, although the Portsmouth No.1 was not sent back to his club.[LNB]Light sessionThe 22 remaining players trained at Arsenal's London Colney complex, with West Ham striker Carlton Cole the last out of the dressing room to join the group.[LNB]England Under-21 coach Stuart Pearce oversaw a light session of ball work after the players warmed up, then goalkeepers Joe Hart and Ben Foster trained separately while the rest of the players played 10 v 10, before Gerrard's early departure.[LNB]Fabio Capello's men have already qualified for next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa, with the midweek encounter their final competitive fixture before the tournament.[LNB]Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will be hoping that Gerrard is not risked by Capello ahead of Saturday's Premier League meeting with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.[LNB]Along with Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Dan Agger and Dirk Kuyt all picked up knocks while on international over the last week.[LNB]
