Gerrard out of Tigers clash

Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has been ruled out of Saturday's Premier League trip to Hull City after failing to recover from a groin problem. Gerrard has been sidelined since the 3-1 Champions League quarter-first leg defeat Chelsea on April 8. The influential captain missed the 4-0 league victory over Blackburn Rovers, the subsequent 4-4 second-leg draw with Chelsea which led to the Reds' exit from Europe and this week's 4-4 draw with Arsenal with an adductor muscle injury. Speaking after Tuesday's Anfield draw, Gerrard was hopeful of being fit to face the Tigers. However, Rafael Benitez has revealed the midfielder will not be part of the squad which will travel to the KC Stadium. "He is not fit and won't be available," the Reds boss told the club's official website. "I think he will be available next week because he's improving, but this game is too soon. "The rest of the team is available - we have a full squad."
