Gerrard out for four weeks
Steven Gerrard is expected to be out of action for four weeks after picking up a hamstring injury during England's friendly with France. There was an agreement between Liverpool and FA that Gerrard would play for only an hour of Wednesday's game, but was kept on for 85 minutes before pulling up with a hamstring injury. Fabio Capello defended his decision to leave Gerrard on the field, insisting that he needed senior players on the pitch with Gareth Barry and Rio Ferdinand already off with injuries.
