Italian vultures are ready to swoop on Merseyside as Liverpool struggle to maintain their Big Four status. [LNB]The Reds face a fight to hold on to star players Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and Javier Mascherano if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.[LNB] AC Milan are keen to make Torres their next star signing after failing to replace Kaka, Jose Mourinho dreams of having Steven Gerrard at Inter Milan and Juventus are ready to renew their interest in Javier Mascherano next summer. [LNB] Wanted men: Torres (left) and Gerrard have plenty of admirers[LNB]Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is so confident he can make the top four that he has offered to quit should they fail. [LNB]But Benitez is unlikely to be the only one leaving Anfield if there are more slip-ups in a season that has already brought seven defeats in 20 Premier League matches.[LNB] Milan are primed to make a renewed bid for Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko, the Bosnia striker also linked to Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United. [LNB]Target: Midfield growler Mascherano[LNB]But Liverpool's problems - which include questions about their financial health - has led Silvio Berlusconi's club to first check on the availability of Torres, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport. [LNB]Mourinho has been a keen admirer of Gerrard since his time in charge of Chelsea, though Inter fear the England midfielder would be expensive and unlikely to walk out on Liverpool. [LNB]Juventus have tried to sign Mascherano for the last two summer transfer windows and the underperforming side have struggled to add bite to their midfield. [LNB]Christian Poulsen and Felipe Melo, both signed as alternatives to the Argentina captain, have been criticised in Turin.  [LNB][LNB] Villa join Liverpool and Tottenham in race for £8m West Ham star ParkerJohnson in fight to be fit for the World Cup as Liverpool ace faces months outAston Villa 0 Liverpool 1: Torres too hot as Spaniard catches Villa cold PICTURE SPECIAL: It's snow joke!
