Steven Gerrard’s final game against arch-rivals Manchester United ended with a 43-second red card and, as such, he is unlikely to play too big a part in his side’s now-tough bid to qualify for the Champions League.

Consequently he will be relying on Liverpool beating Blackburn in their FA Cup quarter-final replay in order to try to go out on a high, otherwise this red may hurt for longer than he would like.
