Gerrard joins the 100 club: Five top European moments from Liverpool's hero
Steven Gerrard will make his 100th European appearance for Liverpool
when they take on Real Madrid tonight.
The inspirational Reds skipper has plenty of memories from his time taking on the cream of the continent's teams.
He has certainly come a long way from 2002 when former boss Gerard Houllier blamed their Champions League exit on his 'poor form'.
And Sportsmail has picked our five top Gerrard moments from his days in

Liverpool 3 Olimpija Ljubljana 0 (October 15, 2003)
Gerrard's first game as captain after taking over the armband from Sami Hyypia in a shock move. The midfielder repaid boss Gerard Houllier's faith with a powerful display against the Slovenians in the UEFA Cup.
Liverpool 3 Olympiakos 1 (December 8, 2004)
A incredible late goal from Gerrard saved Liverpool from a Champions League exit at the hands of the Greeks. Trailing 1-0 from the first leg and needing three after Olympiakos grabbed an away goal, Gerrard popped up in the dying stages to drill home the winner.
AC Milan 3 Liverpoool 3 - Liverpool won 3-2 on pens (May 25, 2005)
Gerrard's finest moment came in the 2005 Champions League final. With the Reds looking dead and buried at half-time in Istanbul, the skipper inspired an amazing comeback. After scoring the first, Gerrard drove his side back level before they won it in the dramatic shoot-out.
Liverpool 1 Chelsea 0 - Liverpool won 4-1 on pens (May 1, 2007)
Trailing from the first leg, Gerrard delivered a superb free-kick for Daniel Agger to level. He then stepped up to convert a crucial spot-kick in the shoot-out to help Liverpool through to their second final in three years.
Marseille 1 Liverpool 2 (September 16, 2008)
This was no Istanbul but Gerrard illustrated his class with a wonderful goal. Receiving the ball 25 yards out, he curled the ball into the top corner without even facing the net. 'Only players of that quality can score goals like that,' said Marseille boss Eric Gerets.
