Gerard Houllier was “touched” by the reception he got from the Kop on his return to Anfield

GERARD HOULLIER admitted he was 'touched' by the reception he received from Liverpool fans on his return to Anfield as boss of Aston Villa.[LNB]The Kop sang Houllier's name as the Frenchman returned to Anfield in a working capacity for the first time since leaving the Reds in 2004.[LNB]'The fans were good,' he said. 'I appreciated the fact that they chanted my name at the end. It shows they can remember.[LNB]'There was also a banner at the start of the game. I was not emotional but I was extremely touched by that.'[LNB] Houllier admitted his Villa side had a problem as soon as they went behind.[LNB]'The first goal affected our morale. We are not the most confident team at the moment and we are aware of that,' said the former Reds manager.
