Gareth Bale happy to be kicked by opponents

Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has no problem being kicked by Barclays Premier League defenders as long as referees keep sending them off.

Liverpool's Martin Skrtel and Wigan's Steve Gohouri have both seen red in the last eight days for bringing down Bale.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has urged referees to continue protecting his prize asset but the Welshman is prepared to suffer if it helps his side win games.

Bale, 22, said: 'It's not nice but I suppose it's a compliment when you're playing well and people want to drag you down.

'There have been two sendings off in the last two games, so they can keep kicking me if they want as long as they get sent off.'

Bale headed home Luka Modric's cornerin the 2-1 win at Wigan on Saturday his first goal of the season. 'Hopefully, I can score a lot more, on the floor and in the air,' he said.
