Fulham offer 9m plus Dempsey for Liverpool stiker Carroll

The Andy Carroll story has taken yet another twist, Fulham are hoping to use Liverpool's interest in Clint Dempsey to push through a swap deal which would also be accompanied by a cash payment.

Dempsey has 12 months to run on his Fulham contract and he is keen to move to a bigger club with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers keen to bring in the American.

After this week's press conference it appeared that Rodgers was prepared to let Carroll go and with the striker attracting the interest of West Ham United and Newcastle United he will not be short of options.
