Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez was a happy man after seeing his side win 1-0 at Bordeaux in the Champions League to move a step closer to the knockout stages.
Peter Crouch's header earned the Reds all three points and put them in pole position in Group C, on seven points from three games.
Benitez said after the win: "It is a good win for confidence and a big boost for the players.
"The lads worked really hard, scored a good goal and could have had more.
"It was a pity we did not add a second goal because we had a nervous end to the game where we had some problems.
"The way the group is working out, this was a very important game to win. There are three games left, but a clean sheet and an away win is vital at this stage.
"It may look like we are close now, but it is very hard to win games at this level and we will take nothing for granted now with two home games coming next.
"We still have Galatasaray away, but the group now depends on the next two home games with Bordeaux and PSV."
