Founding Hillsborough tragedy committee member Joan Traynor dies, aged 77

Joan Traynor[LNB]A FOUNDING member of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, who lost her two sons in the disaster, has died, aged 77.[LNB]Joan Traynor suffered a sudden heart attack at her home in Prenton just before she went to bed.[LNB]The committee treasurer was one of the bedrocks of the group, which has campaigned for justice since the tragedy in 1989.[LNB]Today her devoted husband Jimmy said his wife was hugely liked and respected by all who met her.[LNB] The 81-year-old told the ECHO: 'I took Joan up on the stairlift and into the bedroom.[LNB]'I asked her if she wanted to go to the bathroom and she said yes.[LNB]'I had hold of her hand when she looked at me and dropped to the floor. I was talking to her one minute, and then she was gone.[LNB]'It was a great shock.'[LNB]Joan died on August 8 and her funeral took place at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Birkenhead.
