Former Liverpool striker arrested over sex tape allegations

Ex-Liverpool and France striker Djibril Cisse has been arrested over allegations of plotting to commit extortion involving a sex tape.

Cisse is one of four people to he held in police custody on suspicion to commit blackmail but distributing a pornographic video of Lyon midfielder Mathieu Valbuena.

Police have said that Cisse, 34. Who has also played for Sunderland and Queen's Park Ranger, was questioned because he knew several of the men involved.

Djibril Cisse first joined premier league when he signed for Liverpool in 2004 and scored 24 goals in 3 year on Merseyside.

He scored a further 21 goals in the English top flight, scoring 11 times for Sunderland on as season long loan and ten goals for QPR on an 18 month loan.

Cisse is currently a free agent after being released by French side Bastia in the summer.

He was arrested at 6:00 hours local time on Tuesday in Versailles, following an investigation into blackmail that was opened on 31st July 2015.
